Job summary

CDW is partnering with a client to fill a Mid-Level Network Engineer/Administrator role on a 6-month contract with potential extension. The position is hybrid, based in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring 2 days on site per week.

The role focuses on tier II troubleshooting with progression to tier III work, managing Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki environments, and mentoring from Senior Network Engineer and Network Architect to prepare for a senior level.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years hands-on network engineering/administration experience.
• Experience with Cisco routing and switching (IOS/IOS-XE).
• Some experience with Palo Alto firewalls; Strata Cloud Manager/ Panorama is a plus.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki and core networking concepts (VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot tier II incidents and take on tier III issues as skills grow.
• Escalate complex/high-impact issues with clear documentation of findings and actions.
• Maintain Cisco routers and switches: VLANs, trunking, STP, and routing protocols.
• Monitor Palo Alto firewalls and Meraki environments; manage policies, NAT, VPN tunnels, and cloud dashboards.
• Collaborate with service desk, systems, and security teams on cross-team projects.

CDW is partnering with a client and they are looking for Mid-Level Network Engineer/Administrator for a 6 month contract with the chance to extend. This would be a hybrid role (2 days per week) in Oklahoma City, OK.

Network Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to own tier II troubleshooting and handle more tier III work over time. Will support our Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki environment day to day and elevate to the Senior Network Engineer when needed.

Senior Network Engineer and Network Architect will mentor with the goal of preparing consultant for a senior role.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve tier II network incidents, and take on more tier III issues as your skills grow.
• Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the Senior Network Engineer, with clear documentation of what you found and what you tried.
• Maintain Cisco routers and switches: VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, and routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
• Monitor Palo Alto next-generation firewalls through Strata Cloud Manager, including security policies, NAT, VPN tunnels, and GlobalProtect.
• Monitor the Meraki cloud switching environment: switch configuration, port profiles, firmware updates, and dashboard monitoring.
• Work with the service desk, systems, and security teams on cross-team issues and projects.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on network engineering or network administration experience.
• Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching (IOS / IOS-XE).
• Some experience with Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with Strata Cloud Manager or Panorama is nice to have.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki
• Experience with core networking: TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols, and site-to-site and remote-access VPNs.
• A strong desire to learn and grow into a senior engineering role.
• Nice to haves:Cloud networking experience in Microsoft Azure or AWS: VNets/VPCs, security groups, cloud VPN or ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, and hybrid connectivity.
• Knowledge of operational technology (OT) and industrial control system (ICS) networks, including segmentation between IT and OT and industrial protocols.
• Experience with point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave wireless: link planning, alignment, licensed and unlicensed bands, and troubleshooting.
