Job summary

Confidential on Long Island is seeking an IT infrastructure specialist located in Melville to maintain the firm’s on-premises IT backbone and provide desk-side support to the team.

The role covers AD, DNS/DHCP, Hyper-V, SCVMM, Exchange, SQL, VMware, and Azure; focus on security, backups with Commvault, and proactive monitoring in a fast-paced, autonomous yet collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining on-prem IT infrastructure and AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Adept at server hardware configurations and virtualization platforms.
• Proficient with Hyper-V, SCVMM, and VMware suite.
• Strong Exchange 2019 administration and SQL Server 2022 management.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery (Commvault Commcell).
• Ability to monitor system availability and apply security updates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the firm’s IT infrastructure and provide desktop support as needed.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy across the domain.
• Administer Hyper-V, SCVMM, and VMware ESXi/vCenter/vSAN environments.
• Oversee Exchange 2019 (DAG) and SQL Server 2022 configurations.
• Implement and manage Azure IAAS/PAAS components; ensure DR and backups.
• Monitor performance, security updates, and overall uptime.
• Collaborate with teams in a fast-paced environment.

Great opportunity to be on Long Island with a financial services firm. Maintains the firm’s IT infrastructure as described below and provides support to desktop support teams as needed.

Onsite - Role located in Melvile

• o Microsoft Active Directory. Experience with Group Policy, DNS, Sites and Services, DHCP, Powershell
• o Server hardware configurations (specifically Cisco C-Series)
• o Hyper-V, and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
• o Exchange 2019 including DAG configurations
• o Microsoft SQL 2022 including AG configurations
• o VMWare ESXi, vCenter and vSAN configurations
• o Cisco Email Security Appliances
• · Experience with Microsoft Azure (IAAS and PAAS implementations)
• · Knowledge of backup processes and disaster recovery. Experience with CommVault Commcell backup solutions
• · Ability to proactively assess security updates across all products and implementations mentioned
