Overview
Our client is seeking an IT Network & Systems Engineer to support and maintain its network infrastructure, systems, and business applications. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the company's technology environment while providing hands‑on support for network, server, and user‑related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, Microsoft technologies, virtualization, scripting, and technical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support network infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless networks, VPNs, and LAN/WAN connectivity.
- Monitor network and system performance to ensure uptime, reliability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, server, and network‑related issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security settings.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade servers, workstations, applications, and network devices.
- Support Windows‑based environments and Microsoft technologies.
- Utilize PowerShell, Command Prompt, and scripting tools to automate administrative processes and improve efficiency.
- Create and troubleshoot SQL queries to support application and database needs.
- Assist with integrations between internal systems and third‑party applications.
- Partner with software vendors on implementations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, technology deployments, and system enhancements.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and support procedures.
- Support backup processes, disaster recovery planning, cybersecurity initiatives, and access management.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for end‑user and infrastructure‑related issues.
- Manage IT asset inventory, software licensing, and hardware lifecycle activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in network administration, systems administration, or a related IT role.
- Strong experience supporting Windows and Microsoft‑based environments.
- Hands‑on networking experience with troubleshooting and administration.
- Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write and modify queries.
- Experience with PowerShell and command‑line tools.
- Familiarity with VBScript or similar scripting languages.
- Basic programming or automation experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience supporting third‑party software applications and working with external vendors.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

- Microsoft 365 administration.
- Active Directory user and group management.
- DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, and network security.
- VMware vSphere/ESXi or other virtualization platforms.
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- ERP, accounting, payroll, fleet management, or other business applications.
- CompTIA, Microsoft, or other relevant IT certifications.
