The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of the organization's network and ensuring its optimal performance. This position works with a team to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, troubleshoot network issues, and provide support to end-users. This role will involve ensuring network availability, scalability, and reliability to meet the organization's business needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Configure network devices according to industry best practices and security standards.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems.
- Security Management:
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
- Regularly update and patch network devices and software to address security vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security audits and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Network Administration:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights on the network.
- Install, configure, and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Perform regular backups of network data and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users regarding network issues and connectivity problems.
- Respond to help desk tickets and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.
- Train end-users on network usage and best practices for network security.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities for management review.

Education and Experience:

- Proven experience in network administration, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts to address network emergencies or perform scheduled maintenance.
