Anchor Bay Packaging Corp. is seeking a Network Administrator to sustain our enterprise network, ensuring security, availability, and performance across facilities.

You will design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, configure devices, monitor systems, and provide end-user support while maintaining clear documentation.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP/Network+), with hands-on experience in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • CCNA/CCNP/CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in network administration, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Configure network devices according to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights on the network.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Perform regular backups of network data and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Provide technical support to end-users regarding network issues and connectivity problems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Job description

The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of the organization's network and ensuring its optimal performance. This position works with a team to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, troubleshoot network issues, and provide support to end-users. This role will involve ensuring network availability, scalability, and reliability to meet the organization's business needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Network Infrastructure:
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Configure network devices according to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network problems.
  • Security:
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
  • Regularly update and patch network devices and software to address security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct security audits and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Network Administration:
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights on the network.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Perform regular backups of network data and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support to end-users regarding network issues and connectivity problems.
  • Respond to help desk tickets and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Train end-users on network usage and best practices for network security.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities for management review.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience in network administration, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts to address network emergencies or perform scheduled maintenance.
