Job summary

AdventHealth in Texas is seeking an experienced scheduling specialist to verify patient data and insurance, manage referrals, and optimize appointment bookings. You will handle patient communications, maintain accurate demographics, and support multiple service lines with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires residency within one hour of AdventHealth Central Texas or Texas Health Huguley, with a day shift and full-time status.

Qualifications

• Proficient with computer programs: Email, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to multi-task.
• Certified in effective scheduling of designated service lines and specialties.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient data and insurance to ensure accurate billing.
• Accesses and completes referrals in designated workqueues for assigned specialty.
• Fills patient cancellation slots to keep practitioners’ schedules booked.
• Builds relationships with patients, consumers and co-workers in a virtual setting; meets performance metrics.
• Schedules patients for medical office visits and hospital procedures.
• Transfers callers to appropriate departments; registers new patients with demographic and insurance information.

Job Description:

This position is located in Texas with residency requirement within one hour of AdventHealth Central Texas or Texas Health Huguley.

• Verifies patient data and insurance to ensure it is updated for accurate billing. Handles patient concerns or refers them to administration appropriately.

• Accurately schedules patients for medical office visit appointments and hospital procedures.
• Transfers callers to appropriate departments or locations when necessary. Registers new patients by inputting demographic and insurance information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:

• 1+ medical office or medical call center setting experience. [Preferred]
