Job summary

Arista Networks is seeking world‑class Software Test Engineers to help build our next‑generation network management system. You will design system‑level tests, run scale and performance experiments, and work with developers to root‑cause issues.

You will write detailed bug reports, collaborate with Support to reproduce and resolve customer problems, and contribute to intuitive GUIs and APIs to improve UX for customers.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE/EE with 3+ years experience or MS in telecommunications, computer networking, or related field.
• Experience designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting IP and Ethernet networks.
• Experience with 3+ networking protocols/technologies (e.g. BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRRP, LACP, STP, IP Multicast, ECMP, Port‑Mirroring, QoS, VXLAN, MPLS, EVPN).
• Experience with Linux operating system and technologies (e.g. KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, HBase).
• Some familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.
• Experience with provisioning and deployment frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing system‑level test cases for our next‑generation management system, including scale and performance tests.
• Collaborate with development to root‑cause issues, often using automation to assist experiments.
• Write up detailed bug reports with full characterization and customer impact.
• Work with Technical Support to reproduce, debug, and resolve customer issues.
• Contribute to GUI and API UX to create a pleasant user experience for customers.
