Responsibilities
Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing and implementing real‑time, ultra‑low‑latency streaming solutions using RTP/RTCP over IP networks to support interactive media worldwide.
- Design and develop RTP/RTCP-based solutions for high‑interaction, low‑latency streaming across global networks.
- Develop and refine heuristics for cost, latency estimation, congestion control, and loss recovery in RTP media streams.
- Collaborate with server‑side, real‑time delivery stack teams to integrate new designs.
- Partner with server, consumer, and analytics teams to validate and optimize designs using lab and production (A/B) testing.
Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of congestion control, goodput, latency, and reliability techniques for interactive, ultra‑low‑latency RTP‑based streaming.
- Familiarity with low‑latency, bidirectional media flows over IP, bufferbloat, active/smart queue control, and concurrent TCP‑like flows.
- Experience using network lab environments for controlled data‑networking experiments with large, multi‑parameter test spaces.
- Experience applying A/B testing methodologies for transport stack performance validation in production.
- Practical expertise of relaxed RTP/RTCP, DTLS, SCTP, STUN/turn, and ICE protocols.
- Ability to articulate technical and business implications to diverse audiences.
- Comfort with cross‑time‑zone collaboration with remote teams.
- Experience with Linux or related environments.
- Familiarity with tcpdump/wireshark, Python, and R (or comparable tools) for traffic capture, orchestration, statistical analysis, and presentation.

Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation is $22 per hour. The overall market range for this role in the Netflix vicinity is typically $ninety,000 - $900,000, primarily based on overall reimbursement (vs. base salary). Compensation is determined by market indicators and individual skill set, experience, and location.
