Mercor is seeking a Domain Expert - Legal (NetDocuments) for remote contract work. You will ensure proper filing, versioning and security of matter-based documents, and catch misfiles or breaches while validating permissions and approvals across the team.

You should have 2+ years in a paralegal/records role, a Paralegal certificate or JD, and strong knowledge in several legal domains. This role is fully remote with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Frequent NetDocuments use in current or recent role.
• 2+ years as paralegal, legal assistant, records manager, litigation support, DMS administrator or attorney.
• Ability to spot misfiled documents or confidentiality breaches on sight.
• Paralegal certificate or JD, or equivalent firm experience.
• Strong working knowledge in 2–3 specialized areas.

Responsabilités

• Confirm documents are filed, profiled, versioned and secured correctly for matters.
• Catch misfiled documents, wrong version, or breaches of ethical walls.
• Judge completeness of document handling including related emails.
• Distinguish system permissions vs approvals by records manager or partner.
• Verify refusals of undesired actions such as deleting documents on legal hold.

Position: Domain Expert - Legal(NetDocuments)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70-$100/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Confirm documents are filed, profiled, versioned, and secured correctly for the matter.
• Catch documents filed to the wrong matter, wrong official version, or with broken ethical walls.
• Judge completeness of document handling, ensuring all related documents and emails are managed.
• Distinguish between system permissions and approvals by a records manager or partner.
• Verify refusals of requests that should not be approved, such as deleting a document under legal hold.

Must-Have

• Frequent NetDocuments use - weekly or more - in your current or recent role
• 2+ years as a paralegal, legal assistant, records manager, litigation support specialist, DMS administrator, or practicing attorney
• Ability to spot a misfiled document, wrong official version, or confidentiality breach on sight
• Paralegal certificate, J.D., or equivalent law firm experience
• Strong working knowledge in at least 2-3 specialized areas above

Preferred

• iManage or other DMS experience
• Prior data annotation, labeling, or AI evaluation experience
