NETA Technician – Data Centers & Substations

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking experienced NETA Technicians to support electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting projects across mission-critical data centers, substations, and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Perform acceptance testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution equipment.
• Test and troubleshoot medium- and high-voltage electrical systems in data centers, substations, utility, and industrial environments.
• Perform testing on:
• Power transformers
• Medium- and high-voltage switchgear
• Protective relays
• CTs and PTs
• Cables and bus systems
• Battery systems
• Grounding systems
• Motor control and distribution equipment
• Perform electrical testing including insulation resistance, turns ratio, contact resistance, power factor, Doble, primary/secondary injection, relay testing, and functional testing.
• Read and interpret one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, protection drawings, and equipment documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and identify issues affecting equipment reliability and system performance.
• Work safely in energized and mission-critical environments while following LOTO, OSHA, NFPA 70E, NETA, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Document test results, deficiencies, commissioning activities, and corrective actions.
• Work closely with project managers, commissioning teams, engineers, electricians, and client representatives.
• Serve as a technical resource and, depending on experience, provide leadership to junior technicians and field personnel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical testing experience preferred.
• Experience with medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Strong preference for candidates with data center, substation, utility, industrial, or other mission-critical experience.
• Willingness to be on site for several weeks at a time.
• Experience with protective relay testing and commissioning is highly valued.
• Ability to read and understand electrical one-lines, schematics, protection drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, Vanguard, Fluke, and/or other electrical test equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, including LOTO and NFPA 70E.
• NETA Level I, II, III, or IV candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates currently working toward NETA certification are also encouraged to apply.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
