Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) in Texas. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems, lead test activities, and mentor junior technicians while traveling regionally.

Qualifications

• NETA III/IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, & microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance tests on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings/recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
