Sierra7 is hiring a .NET Software Developer to join the Enterprise Architecture Support Services team supporting the Veterans Administration. The .NET Software Developer’s responsibilities include updating current .NET applications, making improvements, fixing bugs, and creating unique and innovative new applications.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain .NET applications (C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Web API)
  • Contribute to solution design and architecture for complex business problems
  • Build secure-by-design applications and ensure data protection and compliance standards are met
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Apply design thinking principles to translate user needs into functional software
  • Optimize systems through automation, orchestration, and performance monitoring
  • Implement and manage integration with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Develop and enforce best practices for infrastructure, networking, and virtualization
  • Monitor system health and troubleshoot production issues proactively
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and DevOps automation
  • Support all project reporting requirements

Required skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in .NET development (C#, .NET Core, MVC, Web API)
  • Proven technical proficiency in application development and solution engineering
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and system design
  • Experience with security best practices, authentication protocols, and secure coding
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and virtualization technologies
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or other cloud computing platforms
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools, scripting, and orchestration frameworks
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools and performance optimization strategies
  • Solid command of databases (SQL Server) and RESTful APIs
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree - Computer science, Software Engineering, Information technology or other engineering or technical discipline [required]
  • 5 years of experience
  • Experience working in VA [desired]
  • The ability to obtain a government clearance [required]
