Job summary

Mutual Trading Co., Inc. in California is seeking a software engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance business applications using C# and .NET.

You will translate business requirements into software solutions and collaborate with users and team members to deliver robust systems. Responsibilities include writing and optimizing SQL queries, integrating internal apps with databases and Dynamics 365 Business Central, and designing ERP/WMS/EDI/BI and web portals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant fields, 4+ years of experience designing and developing software for real-time or non real-time systems.
• Experience with ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, and business applications such as warehouse management, inventory, sales order processing, or ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance business applications using C# and .NET.
• Write, review, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support application functionality, reporting, and data integration.
• Develop and maintain integrations between internal applications, databases, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Work with business users and team members to understand requirements and translate them into software solutions.
• Investigate application issues, implement fixes, test changes, and maintain technical documentation.
• Design and create in-house applications including ERP, WMS, EDI, BI, mobile apps, and web portal sites.
• Design, maintains and troubleshoot business applications including, but not limited to: ERP, WMS, EDI, BI, mobile apps, and web portal sites.

Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California. We've grown 100 years old now, and command a premiere position among Japanese foodservice suppliers, as well as fill a key role as "Culinary Ambassador" promoting Japanese foods worldwide. Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 8,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.

Essential Job Functions

• Develop, maintain, and enhance business applications using C# and .NET.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to go on domestic and international business trips by plane
• Ability to type and use a computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
• Noise Level: Normal to Loud while indoors
• Ability to sit for an extended period of time
• Business trips at least twice a year

Other Requirements

• Business level English – Read/write/speak/listen
• Business level Japanese preferred – Read/write/speak/listen
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant fields 4+ years of direct experience designing and developing software for a real time or non real-time system
• Experience with ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, or business applications such as warehouse management, inventory, sales order processing, or ERP systems preferred
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Ability to adapt to changes in workload
• Professional experience developing and maintaining applications using C# and .NET.
• Ability to read, understand, and write SQL queries, including SELECT, JOIN, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE, with an understanding of relational databases.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, application debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical team members and business users and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Three or more years of professional C# development experience.
