Job summary

Vertafore, a leading provider of insurance software solutions, is hiring a Software Engineer II in Melville, NY. You will join an energetic team that builds high-quality applications and contribute ideas to improve solutions for agencies, MGAs and carriers.

You will develop features, fix bugs, and perform unit and integration testing while diagnosing issues across OS, DB, and applications. A strong focus on collaboration and continuous learning is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related technical field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Agile software development.
• Have a passion for innovating and crafting clean code.
• 2-3 years of professional experience with C#.
• 2-3 years of professional experience with MSSQL.
• Experience with User Interface Design.
• Understands the value of unit testing.
• Enjoy solving problems through the entire application stack.
• Are interested and capable of learning other programming languages as needed.

Responsibilities

• Contributes independently.
• Responsible for developing new features and supporting/bug fixing existing features.
• Unit and integration testing.
• Debugging issues across the whole stack - OS, DB, applications, and network.
• Continued ownership of technical growth including: product and business knowledge, problem solving skills, technical knowledge, process knowledge.
• Closely follow industry trends and the open source community.
