Job summary

Lenco Armored Vehicles seeks a Nesting Technician to optimize nesting for laser-cut tables across steel products. You will use TruTops to maximize material efficiency and reduce waste while aligning with project specs.

You will collaborate with production and engineering to ensure nesting meets 3D model and Work Order requirements, improving productivity and process reliability. This is a full-time, on-site engineering role at our Pittsfield facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in manufacturing or design environments.
• 2+ years using CAD/CAM applications.
• Working knowledge of TruTops, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience with laser cutting and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering models.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Utilize TruTops software to create, edit, and optimize nesting layouts for various materials and cutting processes.
• Analyze project specifications via Work Orders and inspect 3D models before executing automated nesting runs.
• Verify flat pattern dimensions coincide with press brake tooling and SolidWorks design intent.
• Inspect nests against 3D models and Work Orders to ensure parts are present in correct quantities and materials.
• Optimize material utilization when nesting vehicles to minimize waste and scrap.
• Troubleshoot nesting-related production issues and identify cost- and waste-reduction opportunities.
• Train and support team members on TruTops software and nesting best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or design environments.
• 2+ years of experience operating computers, CAD/CAM applications, and related processes.
• Working knowledge of TruTops, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Practical familiarity with laser cutting operations and sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and engineering models.
• Strong basic math skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
