Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a staff nephrology physician to support patient-centered care at a major VA medical center. The role emphasizes high-quality clinical service, teaching, and involvement in renal education and research activities within the Nephrology Section.

Ideal candidates will have fellowship training in nephrology, a current US medical license, and a strong track record in multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

  • Must be board-eligible or board-certified in nephrology.
  • Must hold an MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.
  • Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
  • Residency training in an approved core specialty (nephrology).
  • Experience in teaching and/or clinical research is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Remain privileged and practicing in nephrology.
  • Provide direct patient care and participate in clinical duties.
  • Engage in academic activities and research directives as assigned.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and hospital committees.
  • Support clinical education and kidney transplantation initiatives.
