Preferred Vascular Group seeks an experienced Interventional Nephrologist to join our Atlanta-area team in an outpatient vascular care setting. You will diagnose, treat, and manage dialysis access dysfunction with minimally invasive procedures and collaborate with nephrologists and dialysis providers.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completed Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology Fellowship.
• Interventional Nephrology training preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Eligibility for unrestricted Georgia medical licensure.
• Experience performing vascular access procedures and image-guided interventions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage CKD/ESRD patients requiring vascular access interventions.
• Perform minimally invasive procedures: angioplasty, thrombectomy, stent placement, catheter exchanges, fistulograms.
• Assess arteriovenous fistulas and grafts for optimal dialysis access.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, dialysis centers, and surgeons.
• Interpret imaging studies related to vascular access and peripheral vascular disease.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients on options.
• Maintain medical records per standards and participate in quality improvement.
• Build relationships with referring physicians and community stakeholders.

Position Summary

Preferred Vascular Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Interventional Nephrologist to join our growing team of vascular specialists throughout the Atlanta market. The Interventional Nephrologist will play a critical role in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of dialysis access dysfunction through minimally invasive procedures designed to preserve and restore vascular access. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care while collaborating closely with nephrologists, dialysis providers, and referring physicians throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with chronic kidney disease and end‑stage renal disease requiring vascular access interventions.
• Perform minimally invasive procedures including angioplasty, thrombectomy, stent placement, catheter exchanges, tunneled dialysis catheter placement, and fistulograms.
• Assess and maintain arteriovenous fistulas and grafts to ensure optimal dialysis access function.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, dialysis centers, vascular surgeons, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Interpret diagnostic imaging studies related to vascular access and peripheral vascular disease.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients regarding treatment options and access maintenance.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes, access preservation, and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, dialysis providers, and community stakeholders.
• Stay current with advancements in interventional nephrology, vascular access management, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology Fellowship.
• Completion of Interventional Nephrology training preferred.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology.
• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Georgia.
• Demonstrated experience performing vascular access procedures and image‑guided interventions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient‑centered care.
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
