Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Patient Support Technician for nephrology in Richland Hospital. This PRN daytime role supports the Registered Nurse by addressing basic patient needs and assisting with daily activities.

Responsibilities include personal hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, and documenting vital signs. Candidates should have nursing assistant or medical support training and a HS diploma or equivalent. Unit secretary training may be required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing and grooming.
• Assist with feeding and meal tray setup.
• Assist patients with ambulation and fall-prevention under RN direction.
• Monitor inputs and outputs and document vital signs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
