Job summary

Summit Health Management is seeking a Medical Assistant for nephrology in Purchase, NY. The role supports physicians, PAs, or NPs with patient flow, charting, and procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include room setup, vital signs, EHR documentation, appointment scheduling, and care coordination. Requires MA program completion, BLS, and strong English communication; on-site with travel to satellite offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program is required.
• 0-1 year related work experience is required; 2-4 years is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Basic proficiency in computer use is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patients to the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and prepares information for visits.
• Documents vitals, allergies and medications in the EHR.
• Enters orders and schedules appointments in PMS/EHR; provides referrals as needed.
• Provides scribing services and assists in various duties as assigned.
