Job summary

EDGE Engineering and Science is seeking a NEPA Project Specialist to prepare environmental documents, including EISs and EAs, for linear infrastructure and coastal projects. You will work with clients, senior staff, and subject experts to deliver compliant analyses.

The role involves coordinating with agencies, supporting permitting processes, staying current on NEPA practice, and occasional field surveys. A bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years NEPA experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, geology, planning, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years NEPA experience or equivalent writing/document development experience.
  • Understanding NEPA and its relation to CWA, ESA, NHPA.
  • Strong time management, ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct NEPA impact analyses for public projects and prepare NEPA docs.
  • Oversee preparation of NEPA documents by subconsultants and perform QA/QC.
  • Coordinate with agencies and the public; develop presentations and facilitate meetings.
  • Provide technical support for environmental permitting processes.
  • Stay updated on NEPA law, policy, guidance.
