UMIAQ Environmental seeks a versatile Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Anchorage team. The role spans NEPA documentation, public outreach, and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities in business development.

You will interact with City Councils, agencies, and community leaders, translating complex data into clear actions. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in community planning or environmental consulting and can travel to remote Alaska locations up to 20% of the year.

Qualifications

• At least 1–3 years of professional experience in community planning or environmental consulting.
• Ability and willingness to travel to rural and remote locations throughout Alaska, up to 20% of the year.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel for technical reporting; Adobe Acrobat Pro for document production.

Responsibilities

• Lead long-range and comprehensive planning initiatives and translate data into actionable goals.
• Facilitate public outreach and stakeholder engagement, acting as a clear voice for the firm.
• Deliver technical presentations to city councils, planning commissions, and community leaders.
• Coordinate and consult with federal, state, and local agencies for permitting and regulatory needs.
• Maintain rigorous project tracking, schedules, and milestones for timely delivery.
• Support business development through strategic planning and client relationship building.
• Collaborate with technical staff to integrate environmental science with community planning.
• Prepare, manage, and review NEPA documentation to ensure full compliance.
