Job summary

AMN Healthcare Physician Solutions is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens support in Portland, Maine. The assignment runs August 2026 through July 2027 with 12-hour day or night shifts in an inpatient NICU.

Candidates must be board-certified NNP (or equivalent) with Basic Life Support and be willing to license in Maine. EPIC EMR experience is preferred; credentialing typically takes 60–120 days. Start ASAP to cover ongoing needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for high-risk deliveries in a NICU setting.
• Perform neonatal procedures including intubation, lumbar puncture, venipuncture.
• Place umbilical lines and perform thoracentesis/thoracostomy as needed.
• Participate in neonatal resuscitation and critical care management.

This facility is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details And Requirements For This Opportunity

Schedule: August 2026 - July 2027, 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights).

Practice Setting: inpatient

Types of Cases: High risk deliveries, full neonatal procedures, Intubation, lumbar puncture, venipuncture, arterial puncture, umbilical line placement, thoracentesis, thoracostomy, neonatal resuscitation.

Credentialing Timeframe: 60 - 120 Days

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Certifications Required: Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP specific) and Basic Life Support

Licensure Required: Willing to license
