Job summary

AMN Healthcare seeks a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens support in Portland, Maine. Start ASAP through July 2027 with 12-hour day or night shifts in an inpatient NICU.

Responsibilities include high-risk deliveries, full neonatal procedures, intubation and resuscitation. Board certification in neonatal NP/PA and BLS required; licensure willingness to obtain. EMR is EPIC; credentialing 60–120 days.

Qualifications

• Board-certified neonatal NP or PA required.
• BLS certification required.
• Willing to license to practice; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient neonatal care in a NICU setting.
• Perform high-risk deliveries and neonatal procedures as needed.
• Participate in resuscitation and intubation when required.
• Credentialing timeframe 60–120 days; schedule 12-hour shifts (days/nights).

This facility is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant(NP) for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

Schedule: August 2026 - July 2027, 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights).

Practice Setting: inpatient

Types of Cases: High risk deliveries, full neonatal procedures, Intubation, lumbar puncture, venipuncture, arterial puncture, umbilical line placement, thoracentesis, thoracostomy, neonatal resuscitation.

Credentialing Timeframe: 60 - 120 Days

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Certifications Required: Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP specific) and Basic Life Support

Licensure Required: Willing to license
