Job description

Staten Island University Hospital- Northwell Health is looking for an enthusiastic BC/BE Neonatologist to join our division faculty at our Level 3 NICU. We offer an evidence-based, rewarding clinical practice in a collegial unit staffed 24/7 by neonatologists, NNP/PAs, dedicated neonatal RTs and pediatric residents. Our unit offers all neonatal services, including high frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, and pediatric surgery. Patients in need of cardiac surgery and ECMO are seamlessly cared for at our affiliate, Cohen Children’s Medical Center. The hospital is currently experiencing rapid growth in obstetric volume, with approximately 3,500 deliveries and 650 NICU admissions anticipated in 2024.

Applicants will enjoy working in the state of the art newly constructed Gruppuso Women and Newborn Center opening in August, 2024. The new state of the art 20-bed Joseph Maffeo Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is under construction and expected to open at the end of 2025. Significant opportunities exist for teaching residents and participating in both clinical research and QI both in conjunction with our ACGME-accredited independent pediatric residency program. Faculty appointment commensurate with level of experience is through the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Compensation package is highly competitive and includes salary, fringe benefits, malpractice insurance and CME.

Founded in 1861, Staten Island University Hospital is a 714-bed, specialized teaching hospital located in New York City’s fastest growing borough.

Staten Island is the third largest borough in New York City and is home to diverse neighborhoods, parks, natural areas, and cultural attractions. It is right over the bridge from either Brooklyn or New Jersey, or you can reach Manhattan via ferry, or less than 30 minutes via car. “The small town in the Big City” affords suburban living within the confines of the Big Apple; the best of both worlds. Wherever you roam, you will encounter breathtaking views, world class culture and education and a neighborhood to fit every palate.
