Neonatologist/NICU

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Neonatologist
  • Location: Elmhurst Hospital/Edward Hospital - Elmhurst, IL / Naperville, IL
  • Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/week). Part-time and Per Diem options available; salary prorated.
  • Salary: $245,000 - $336,000. Pay rate is determined by experience and expertise. Part-time and Per Diem options available; salary prorated.
  • Hours: 24/7 staffing with flexible hours
  • Required Travel: None

Locations: Naperville and Elmhurst, Illinois

Endeavor Health seeks an exceptional neonatologist to join the Division of Neonatology. Candidates should have completed an accredited neonatology fellowship and be BE/BC in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

Requirements:

  • License: Illinois Medical License or Pending
  • Certification: Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-house NICU coverage at Edward Hospital and daytime coverage with at-home night call at Elmhurst Hospital, ensuring high-quality neonatal care.
  • Manage critically ill neonates, including preterm and term infants with complex conditions.
  • Perform advanced neonatal procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and umbilical line placement.
  • Manage ventilatory support, including conventional and high-frequency ventilation, as well as non-invasive respiratory support.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Provide delivery room stabilization and resuscitation, attending high-risk deliveries as needed.
  • Participate in rounds, develop care plans, and engage in quality improvement, research, and protocol development.
  • Work with maternal-fetal medicine specialists and other providers to optimize care.
  • Support families through education and guidance.
  • Work a combination of clinical shifts, overnight call, and weekend/holiday coverage, totaling approximately 1950 hours annually.
  • Attend developmental follow-up clinics for NICU graduates.
  • Opportunity to work additional hours at affiliated hospitals, compensated at the applicable moonlighting rate.

Hospital Details:

Edward Hospital: Largest Level III NICU in DuPage County, with over 400 admissions/year, offering specialized care including therapeutic hypothermia, pediatric surgery, and developmental follow-up.

Elmhurst Hospital: Level II Special Care Nursery providing extended care for late preterm and transitional care for term infants.
