Qualifications

• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Neonatal Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of an assigned group of patients. S/he must be able to accept leadership responsibility in the absence of a Lead Therapist as directed. Adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable rules and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Performs respiratory therapies and oxygen delivery therapies, making recommendations for the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
• Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and multidisciplinary team consultations to determine therapy efficacy, making appropriate recommendations and changes per protocol.
• Performs airway maintenance including: manual resuscitator use, suctioning, extubating, assisting with tracheostomy tube insertion, trach tube changes, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, LMA insertion, endotracheal intubation, and procedural respiratory support.
• Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. Documents and charges procedures accurately to ensure quality standards.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC.
• Active and Current Florida State License as Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, and PALS Certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
