Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma/associates/bachelor).
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year RN experience in newborn nursery.
• Texas RN license or multi-state compact with Texas license within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn head-to-toe assessment and develop plan of care.
• Administer medications with understanding of newborn side effects.
• Maintain infection control practices for neonates.
• Demonstrate proficiency with computerized documentation systems.
• Provide lactation support to breastfeeding mothers.
• Offer family-centered education based on needs.
• Recognize abnormal labs and report Neonate/mother findings per protocols.
• Participate in required continuing education and in-service sessions.
