Job summary

Driscoll Children's Hospital invites applications for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive neonatal care across South Texas. The role supports neonatology teams, with shifts at Corpus Christi, Edinburg, or Laredo locations. Expect a primary site with travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, assessing infants, ordering studies, and educating families. Relocation options and a generous sign-on bonus accompany a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Masters degree preferred.
• Current Texas RN / APRN licensure.
• National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) following completion of formal education accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Licensed to practice as NNP or Student NNP in the State of Texas.
• NRP certification.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong knowledge and experience in neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate care for neonatal patients.
• Obtain maternal and infant health histories and perform physical assessments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory studies.
• Diagnose and treat neonatal conditions.
• Develop and manage individualized plans of care.
• Prescribe and manage medications, fluids, respiratory support, nutrition, and other therapies.
• Coordinate specialty consultations and referrals as appropriate.
• Educate and support parents and families regarding their infant's condition and plan of care.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, bedside nurses, case managers, specialists, families, and community resources to ensure continuity of care.
