Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is looking for an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to support per diem coverage at several NICUs throughout the Tampa Bay area. The ideal candidate must have a current APRN certification and a master’s degree, along with a Florida state license and recent experience in neonatal care.

This position involves working alongside a dedicated team within the NICUs, providing essential care and assessments for newborns. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with multiple healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certification as an APRN is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing or related field is essential.
• Florida state license is mandatory.
• Recent relevant experience in a NICU is needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide per diem coverage in multiple Level II-III IV NICUs in Tampa Bay.
• Deliver care alongside a team of physicians and pediatricians.
• Conduct newborn assessments and manage care in the NICUs.

Pediatrix Medical Group – Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Per Diem)

We are seeking an experienced, board certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide per diem coverage across multiple Level II‑III IV NICUs in the Tampa Bay area.

Practice Overview

• The team consists of 16 neonatal physicians, 3 pediatricians and 12 NNPs who provide care to patients in the Tampa Bay market.
• St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa has a 76‑bed Level‑IV NICU with over 1000 NICU admissions per year and approximately 5000 births annually.
• Neonatal coverage extends to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, a Level‑II NICU with 10 beds, at Mease Countryside in Safety Harbor, a Level‑III NICU with 12 beds, and St. Joseph’s South Hospital, a Level‑II NICU with 11 beds.
• In addition, the group provides 24‑hour in‑house delivery room and newborn coverage at all four hospitals.
• The neonatologists provide in‑house call at St. Joseph's Women’s Hospital Level‑IV NICU, and a combination of in‑house and back‑up call from home for the other three NICUs with either a Neo or NNP providing night coverage.
• A combination of neonatologists and pediatricians provide normal newborn coverage at the hospitals.
• NICU services provided at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital NICU including nitric oxide, head cooling and consultation for ECMO along with full sub‑specialty support with an active perinatology program.
