Northwest Texas Children's Hospital in Amarillo, TX is partnering with Pediatrix to recruit a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for their Level III NICU. The team includes neonatologists and dedicated support staff focused on infant care excellence.

Ideal candidates have NNP experience or 3+ years NICU nursing for new grads, an active Texas APRN license with Neonatal NP certification, and a master’s degree. Comprehensive benefits with relocation support are offered.

• NNP experience preferred.
• New NP grads considered if 3+ years NICU nursing experience.
• Graduate of an approved, accredited nursing program.
• Current Texas APRN license with certification as Neonatal NP, or ability to obtain one.
• Board Certification.
• Current APRN national specialty certification.
• Minimum of a master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• NNP coverage model: 24-hour shifts plus second NNP on day shift.
• Work schedule: average of seven 24-hour shifts a month.
• Attend high-risk deliveries as assigned.
• Procedures include intubation, insertion of UVC, UAC, and PICC lines.
• Pediatric Hospitalist sees newborns.
• Peds subspecialties in-house: Cardiology, Nephrology, Peds Surgery, Endocrinology.

Job Description

Northwest Children's Hospital in Amarillo is assisting our contracted neonatal intensivist group in recruiting a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for their practice in our Level III NICU. The team consists of a close-knit group of NNPs and Neonatologists supported by a dedicated staff of RNs, RTs, occupational and physicial therapists, social workers, and breastfeeding specialists, each trained specifically to work with infants in the NICU.

Position Details

• Position is with Pediatrix, the contracted NICU group
• 35-bed Level III NICU
• Average daily census of 23-25
• NNP coverage model: 24-hour shifts plus second NNP on day shift
• Work schedule: average of seven 24-hour shifts a month
• NNP may attend high-risk deliveries as assigned
