Job summary

Montefiore Wakefield Campus is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join the newborn services team. The role requires collaboration with physicians and nurses to develop and implement care plans for high-risk infants in a busy Level 3 NICU.

Responsibilities include conducting exams, coordinating across care settings, and prescribing medications per NYS law. Rotation includes nights and holidays; NYS licensure, DEA, and NRP/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner certification required.
• Current NY RN license and DEA registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• NRP certification required.
• 3 years of neonatal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement the therapeutic plan of care for newborns.
• Consult nursing staff on the therapeutic regimen and patient care.
• Ensure continuity of care across home, other facilities and physician appointments.
• Perform health history, physical exams and psychosocial assessments in NB nursery/NICU.
• Order labs/imaging per protocol; distinguish normal/abnormal findings.
• Prescribe inpatient and discharge meds per NYS law; coordinate therapies.
