Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to lead the NICU APP team within Barnabas Health Medical Group. The role combines advanced neonatal clinical practice with educational and administrative duties to assure high‑quality newborn care.

The APP will coordinate midlevel providers, guide NICU practices, and foster learning. Requirements include an MSN with Neonatal NP, NJ APN license, NNP-BC certification, and 5+ years in a Level 3 NICU, with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• APN license and NJ RN license required.
• MSN with Neonatal NP specialization.
• NNP-BC national certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of NICU Level 3 experience; at least 2 in leadership/education.
• CPR, NRP and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the mid-level provider team in the NICU.
• Provide advanced clinical care for neonatal patients in NICU/Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby units.
• Lead education and development initiatives for staff and learners.
• Coordinate patient care using nursing process and evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with obstetricians and neonatologists to optimize outcomes.
