Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Neonatology division seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care for critically ill neonates and families. This role works with neonatologists, participates in research projects, division QI activities, and teaching junior staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree from an ACEN and/or CCNE accredited graduate school of nursing in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills.
• Current BLS, NRP and PALS certification or obtained by start date; Arizona NP certification or equivalent; National board certification in area of education.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive health histories, physical assessments and plans for neonates and young patients.
• Orders and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Formulates family-centered plan of care and documents care plan daily.
• Collaborates with attending physicians and health-care teams; participates in teaching and mentoring.
