Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis in Springfield, MO seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join the NICU team. You will provide advanced clinical care to premature and critically ill newborns, collaborating with neonatologists, nurses, and the wider care team.

This full-time role requires APN licensure within three months, BLS/NRP, and neonatal NP certification; offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits and flexible shifts (24-hour and 12-hour).

Qualifications

• APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire.
• Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirement).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of neonatal patients in the NICU setting.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to critically ill and premature infants.
• Preform advanced neonatal procedures including intubation, line placement, lumbar puncture, and neonatal resuscitation.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding patient status, treatment plans, and education.
• Participate in delivery attendance for high-risk births.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation via EPIC EMR.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based neonatal practices.
