Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group Neonatology at Lenoir in Kinston, NC seeks Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioners for full-time roles at our Level 1 Nursery with Per Diem opportunities. You will join a team of pediatricians and neonatologists to provide excellent newborn care, with flexibility and strong leadership expectations.

Qualifications

Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner credential is required.
L&D, Nursery or Pediatric NP experience is required.
Ability to work independently with remote supervising physician oversight.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary caregiver in Level 1 Nursery for newborns.
Assess and diagnose newborns.
Prescribe medications with supervising physician agreement.
Educate parents and guardians on newborn care.
Order and perform medical tests and procedures.
Work independently with remote MD support.
Prepare for transfers to Level 2-3 NICUs if needed.
Be comfortable with neonatal procedures such as intubations and central line placements.
