Job summary

UVA Health’s 60-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit seeks an experienced NICU RN to deliver expert, family-centered care to high-acuity neonates within an academic medical setting.

As part of a Magnet-recognized center, you will collaborate with neonatologists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams, engage in teaching and research, and participate in ongoing professional growth in Charlottesville.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Virginia; AHA BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of NICU or relevant pediatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to critically ill neonates.
• Perform continuous assessment, monitoring, and intervention for high-acuity patients.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, APPs, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize advanced technologies and evidence-based protocols to improve outcomes.
• Educate and support families through complex care journeys.
• Engage in continuous learning and academic collaboration in a Magnet environment.
