Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing school with current Massachusetts registration.
• BSN required for newly licensed nurses.
• Minimum 1 year NICU experience.
• Strong communication with patients and families.
• Ability to work under pressure with interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of growth and development of adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Organize and plan patient care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a patient assignment.
• Set priorities for patients with varying acuity.
• Document care clearly and concisely per standards.
• Develop comprehensive discharge plans and educational resources.
• Administer medications safely and appropriately.
• Coordinate with healthcare team and participate in quality improvement.
• Adhere to infection prevention and universal precautions.
• Support unit goals and participate in committees.
