Job summary

The University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital NICU seeks full-time general pediatricians to join our multidisciplinary care team as Clinical Associates with renewable terms of up to three years. Appointees will provide neonatal services at one or more level II nurseries within the University of Chicago Medicine system.

Positions are benefits-eligible and involve collaboration with neonatologists, nurse practitioners, residents, nutritionists, and pharmacists under attending supervision.

Qualifications

• MD degree or equivalent required
• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency required
• Board certification or eligibility in general pediatrics required
• Permanent State of Illinois medical licensure or eligibility required

Responsibilities

• Pre-rounding, presenting patients, order writing, addressing clinical problems, and communicating with parents and consultants.
• Perform standard neonatal procedures, attend high-risk deliveries, and perform neonatal resuscitations as needed.
• Attend deliveries at level II nurseries, stabilize infants for transport, and manage infants whose acuity allows them to remain at their birth hospital.

Education
