Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor, MI, seeks an Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) for the Brandon NICU. The 0.6 FTE position delivers high-quality newborn care in a Level IV NICU, with responsibilities in resuscitation, transport, and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
• Current specialty certification to practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC).
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• AHA approved BLS.
• NRP certification.
• Current DEA license.
• Demonstrated a minimum of one year of clinical experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or predecessor agencies.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Michigan.
• State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required.
• Current DEA registration.
• AHA approved BLS.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a Level III or IV NICU or completion of neonatology residency/fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Under physician supervision, provide comprehensive care for acutely ill and convalescing neonates in intensive and acute care settings.
• Conduct detailed histories and physicals; order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and present findings to the medical team.
• Coordinate and participate in neonatal transport (ground and air) including stabilizing patients and leading retrieval teams.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitation efforts.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and transitions between levels of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, evaluations, and treatments.
