Job summary

Michigan Medicine is expanding the Brandon NICU with nine 1.0 FTE Advanced Practice Professionals (NPs or PAs). The Pediatric NICU team delivers Level IV care to newborns, emphasizing family-centered care, education, and collaboration across disciplines.

Advanced Practice Professionals will support high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, and coordinate transitions of care, while contributing to teaching opportunities for residents and medical students and driving innovation in newborn care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Michigan with NP specialization
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and board certification (NNP-BC) or ARC-PA accredited PA program with NCCPA certification
• AHA BLS and NRP certification
• Current DEA license and Michigan Controlled Substance License
• Minimum 1 year NICU experience with high-acuity neonatal care
• Proficiency in advanced neonatal procedures and diagnostics

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care under physician supervision in NICU settings
• Take histories, perform exams, order/interpret tests, prescribe medications
• Coordinate neonatal transport and lead retrieval teams as assigned
• Attend high-risk deliveries and lead neonatal resuscitation efforts
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate handoffs and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient status and treatments
• Provide consultative services to internal/external providers
• Support resident education and contribute to quality improvement and innovation
• Participate in palliative care services and other duties as assigned
