Job summary

The Specialty Crop and Cotton Nematology team at the University of Georgia's Tifton Campus is seeking a Research Technician with a strong interest in agriculture to coordinate and conduct plant nematology research, manage laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments, and assist graduate students on techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Pesticide Applicator's License or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to operate farm equipment.

Responsibilities

• Establish, manage laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments for plant nematology.
• Coordinate operations and logistics by organizing schedules, procuring supplies, and maintaining inventories.
• Operate and maintain agricultural and research equipment, including tractors and trailers.
• Train and guide new graduate and undergraduate students joining the team.
• Collaborate with the crop nematologist, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers on research projects.
