Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Gastonia, NC seeks a motivated LPN Nurse Manager to oversee nursing care within scope of practice, ensuring patient needs are met per standards, physician orders, and center policies.

The role leads clinical operations, participates in quality improvement, uses the patient care and life management tools, educates families, and ensures timely meds and treatments in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LPN in state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred.
• Long term care experience.
• PointClickCare charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Uses Infection Control Manual and adheres to policies.
• Participates in Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring.
• Notifies departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge).
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Administers treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders as allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
