Job description

LOCATION: Fixed locations include Kuwait, Germany, South Korea, Texas, North Carolina, and California; mobile sites include multiple CONUS and OCONUS locations.

STATUS: Contingent - Actively interviewing

TRAVEL: Fixed sites up to 10%; mobile teams up to 75%

CLEARANCE: Secret Clearance

DESCRIPTION:

NDTE Technicians perform specific NDTE program tasks, supporting the NDTE Team Lead and/or Field Engineer in non-complex engineering tasks such as analysis and testing. Responsibilities include assembling, troubleshooting, and operating systems using mechanical drawings and manuals, inventorying inbound body armor, conducting inspections, and processing body armor through the AIS system, including external repairs and packaging. Technicians will also troubleshoot circuit-level control wiring, physical inspections, and scanning processes, utilizing tools like the RUPS-Hybrid and EMD repair kit.

Primary duties include:

  • Assembly, troubleshooting, and operation of systems using mechanical drawings and manuals.
  • Inventorying inbound body armor by source and size.
  • Initial sorting and preparation of body armor, including tap testing, visual and physical inspections, and external repairs.
  • Ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Downloading and submitting AIS data.
  • Maintaining regular attendance.
  • Obtaining and maintaining required security clearances or licenses.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Willingness to obtain radiation safety training.
  • Proficiency in safety practices, including use of personal dosimeters and survey instruments.

Required Education / Experience:

  • At least 3 years of recent experience with mechanical drawings/manuals.
  • At least 3 years of recent electrical control and electronic troubleshooting experience.
  • At least 3 years of recent circuit-level and system-level control wiring troubleshooting.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Typical warehouse environment. Ability to lift 25 pounds and operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.

Travel Requirements: Up to 75% depending on site/assignment.
