Job summary

C&S Machine Products, Inc. in Niles, MI is hiring a Level II certified NDT Technician to support production.

This role performs MT/PT inspections, NE, passivation, and related testing for Aerospace and Defense customers, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety procedures. Responsibilities include documenting results, maintaining equipment calibration records, and developing inspection procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or currently in co-op)
• NAS-410 Level II certification with documented experience in MT, PT, Nital Etch or Passivation
• Familiarity with casting, machining and secondary process defects
• Able to pass near vision exam (20/25)
• Proficient in basic math and MS Office
• Understanding of gauging and tooling used in NDT department
• Knowledge of ERP/HR software systems

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections (MT, PT), NE, and passivation for Aerospace/Defense customers
• Interpret inspection results per standards and specifications
• Document and report inspection/test results
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment
• Maintain calibration, material, and equipment certification records

• Verify products meet method sheets and quality requirements
• Perform chemical titration tests to maintain process specs
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, NADCAP, and customer requirements

Description

C&S Machine is hiring an NDT Technician Level 2 Certified to support production bysupporting department and organizational objectives. This role contributes to efficient operations by completing work accurately, safely, and in alignment with company policies, procedures, and values.

The NDT Technician works collaboratively to ensure responsibilities are carried out promptly and effectively to support overall business operations.

What you’ll do:

• Perform NDT inspections (MT, PT), NE, and passivation processes for Aerospace and Defense customers.


• Interpret inspection results and evaluate findings per applicable standards and specifications.


• Document, organize, and report inspection and test results.


• Operate, calibrate, and maintain NDT and related equipment.


• Maintain accurate calibration, material, and equipment certification records.


• Develop inspection techniques, procedures, and work instructions.


• Verify products meet method sheets, specifications, and quality requirements.


• Perform chemical titration testing to maintain process specifications.


• Ensure compliance with ASTM, NADCAP, customer, and contractual requirements.


• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.


• Communicate issues, challenges, and updates to team leadership and coworkers.


• Perform other duties as assigned and follow the company's organizational structure.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. or currently attending high school while working within our co-op program


• Level II NAS-410 certification and documented work history in at least one of the following methods: MT, PT, Nital Etch or Passivation, with the ability to become certified in all other methods performed at our facility


• Familiarity with casting, machining and other secondary process defects


• Must be able to pass a near vision 20/25 (Snellen) at 16” +/- 1” comprehensive eye exam (natural or corrected)


• Basic math knowledge


• Problem-solving skills


• General knowledge of Microsoft Office products


• General knowledge of ERP and HR software systems


• Understanding of gauging and tooling applicable to the department, such as indicating micrometers, test indicators, gauge blocks, and depth micrometers
