Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking an X-ray inspection operator to perform X-ray shoot operations on investment castings and support acceptance checks per IMRS specifications. This role processes parts following technique sheets and customer procedures while ensuring proper documentation.

Responsibilities include selecting work per supervisor directions, verifying paperwork alignment, completing all forms, and moving products to the next step in the process. NAS 410 Level I RT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Level I with film and digital X-ray techniques.
• Aerospace industry experience is a plus.
• Experience with NDT in a foundry is strongly preferred.
• Certified or qualified to become a NAS 410 Level I RT inspector.

Summary

Performs X‑ray shoot operation of investment castings to support X‑ray inspection for accept or reject as per specifications outlined in IMRS. Processes parts per instructions on technique sheets in accordance with customer processing procedures and acceptance criteria.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in life experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Level I with film and digital X‑ray techniques.
• Aerospace industry experience is a plus.
• Experience with NDT in a foundry is strongly preferred.
• Certified or qualified to become a NAS 410 Level I RT inspector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and to write simple correspondence.
• Strong mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, sit, and use hands to handle tools or controls. Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include near vision and color discrimination per NAS 410.

Work Environment

Employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to non‑toxic vapors or airborne particles. Noise level is usually moderate to loud; hearing protection is required. Work hours may extend outside regular schedules to meet operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
