Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Radiographs Technician to castings and samples for flaws using X-ray techniques in our Tampa, FL facility. The role requires Level II RT certification, NAS 410 familiarity, and precise interpretation of radiographs to accept or reject parts.

You will work under safety standards, maintain documentation, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance and timely delivery of components to aerospace programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 40 hours of formal classroom training to Chromalloy Castings GSP QD-006.
  • X-Ray Level II Training or at least equivalent; 200 hours of documented OJT in X-Ray.
  • Must be certifiable to NAS 410 Level II RT.

Responsibilities

  • Radiographs castings and samples for flaws or presence of foreign materials according to the applicable x-ray technique.
  • Level II interpret films and CR and N-ray; make decisions on reject or accept parts; record date and move products.
  • Must be certifiable to NAS 410 Level II RT.
  • Aligns object on stand between source of x-rays and film or plate; masks peripheral areas with lead shields.

  • Verifies radiation intensities and monitors safety in the work area.

SUMMARY

Radiographs castings and sample parts for flaws, cracks, or presence of foreign materials according to the requirements of the applicable x-ray technique. Performs the following duties:

*Level II interpret films and CR. and N-ray. Make decisions on reject and accept parts. Record date, move products

* Must be certifiable to NAS 410 Level II RT*

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Aligns object on stand between source of x-rays and film or plate.

Masks peripheral areas with lead shields.

Selects type of radiation source and type of film, and determines exposure distance and time, considering size, mobility, and strength of radiation sources in relation to density and mobility of object.

Verifies radiation intensities.

Adjusts controls of x-ray equipment on console or exposes source of radioactivity to take radiograph.

Removes and develops film or plate.

Monitors working area to protect personnel area.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in life experience.

40 hours of formal classroom training to Chromalloy Castings GSP QD-006

X-Ray Level IITraining Outlines or at least equivalent. 200 hours of documented OJT (Work Experience) in X-Ray.

CERTIFICATIONS

Must be certifiable to NAS 410 Level II RT.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
