Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. in East Alton, IL is seeking an NDT Technician to perform nondestructive testing tasks under supervision, with duties varying daily as assigned by the NDT Supervisor.

The role requires NAS 410certifications, willingness to work nights/weekends, and adherence to FAA guidelines; a high school diploma is required, Airframe and Powerplant license preferred, and a valid driver’s license or passport is advantageous.

Qualifications

• NAS 410 certification requirements and maintenance of certifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and/or passport ideal.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and around x-ray operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform, under supervision, the required tasks associated with NDT, including disassembly, cleaning, preparation, testing and post cleaning.
• Achieve and maintain certifications of NDT level I, II, or III per NAS 410 and company written practice; re-certification as needed.
• Maintain shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals and maintenance databases.
• Communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, read).
• Handle any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
