Blue Origin is seeking a Nondestructive Testing specialist to perform CT and radiographic inspections on flight hardware and test samples. You will contribute to part integrity, quality, and life span in a safety‑driven aerospace environment.

The role requires experience with NAS-410, CT/DRT methods, and strong documentation skills. Expect shift work and potential overtime to meet critical deadlines, supporting a culture of safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Level 2 experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR).
• 1+ year Level 2 experience in Computed Tomography.
• Must pass Radiographic General Test and Specific Test by week 3 (materials provided).
• Must meet NAS‑410 minimum training in Radiography.
• 40 hours Radiation Safety Training; 40 hours Digital Radiography Training.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain techniques to examine hardware per safety and spec requirements.
• Perform Computed Tomography scans and interpret data.

As part of a hardworking team of Nondestructive Testing specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will perform development and production activities involving Nondestructive Testing (NDT) methods for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of assuring part integrity, quality and life span. This position will primarily be involved in the Computed Tomography and Radiographic inspections of flight critical metallic and/or composite flight hardware and test samples.

This role will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Shift days/times

D Shift/3rd shift Friday - Sunday (5:00PM-5:30AM)

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
• Perform Computed Tomography scans and interpret data
• Perform inspections using Digital Radiographic Test (DRT)
• Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing or shop work order
• Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks
• Document and organize inspection results
• Interface/communicate with Engineers and/or Managers to describe inspection results

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Level 2 experience in non-film radiography (DR, or CR)
• 1+ year of Level 2 experience in Computed Tomography
• Must be able to pass Radiographic General Test and Specific Test by week 3 (study materials will be provided if needed)
• Must meet the minimum training requirements per NAS‑410 in Radiography
• 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training
• 40 hours of Digital Radiography Training
• Qualify to certify to level II status per NAS‑410 requirements in Non‑Film Radiography with a minimum of 800 hours documented experience
• Meet minimum Vision Requirements: Near Vision 20/25 or Jaeger No.1 at 16” or 12”; Color Perception 14 Plate Ishihara Color Test with at least 12 panels correctly identified
• Familiar with ASTM E1695 – CT system performance, ASTM E1742 – Radiographic examination, ASTM E2445 – Performance Evaluation & Long‑Term Stability of CR, ASTM E2698 – Examination using Digital Detector Arrays
• Experience in operating NDT inspection equipment and radiation safety equipment
• Ability to determine optimal parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations for inspection activity
• Experience analyzing resultant data from metallic and composite structures
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
• Experience with MS Office products required
• Will willing to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts as needed to meet critical deadlines
• Ability to lift and transport parts and/or inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
• Experience in both lab and field inspection environments
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylum seeker

Desired

• Experience in composite inspections
• Volume Graphics experience
• Certified radiographer (ASNT, IRRSP, etc.) for X‑ray
• Training in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle
• Certification in one or more of the following methods: Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Infrared, Terahertz, Laser Shearography per NAS‑410
• Training in Computed and Digital Radiography
• Advanced Phased Array Training
• Knowledge of industry NDT standards
• Production environment experience, preferably aerospace
• Experience with automated/robotic inspection equipment
• 1+ year aerospace experience
