Job summary

Olsson in the United States is seeking an entry-level NDT Assistant Technician to support field and laboratory testing, learning nondestructive testing methods under direct supervision and contributing to the quality and safety of materials and structures.

You will assist with testing, analyze results, prepare daily reports for multiple projects, and help transport equipment while working in varied environments and aiming for Level II certification per Olsson’s practice and AWS CWI credentials.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in NDT or related field (preferred).
• Ability to pass OSHA 10-hour safety exam and training.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist field and laboratory testing using various techniques under supervision.
• Analyze testing results according to guidelines.
• Prepare and manage daily field/lab reports for multiple projects.
• Receive instructions from supervisor or project manager to resolve testing problems.
• Transport nondestructive testing equipment to project sites.
• Work in varied terrain and weather conditions and on construction sites.
• Identify and avoid safety hazards for workers and the public.
