Job summary

Mitsubishi Power in Savannah, GA is seeking a NDT/Quality Inspector to set up and operate nondestructive testing equipment and determine the best inspection methods for each application. You will read drawings, select testing approaches, and ensure proper documentation of results.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of related experience or training.
  • Able to read and understand basic instructions, write simple correspondence, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Capable of following written or diagrammed instructions and resolving routine problems.
  • Basic computer skills: email, word processing, spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and perform operations per drawings/work instructions.
  • General knowledge of shop processes and inspection techniques.
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Perform TPMs on equipment and visual/dimensional inspections.
  • Operate CMM using established programs.
  • Verify dimensions and test for defects such as leaks or cracks.
  • Record results and ensure quality documentation.

Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a NDT/Quality Inspector to join our high-performance team in Savannah, GA. The Quality Inspector will set up and operate various types of computerized and state-of-the‑art nondestructive test equipment determining the most effective inspection methods to be used for each specific application.The Quality Inspector will set up and operate various types of computerized and state-of-the‑art nondestructive test equipment determining the most effective inspection methods to be used for each specific application. Example ( Red Dye Penetrate Testing)

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Read, interpret and perform all operations as necessary per drawings and/or work instructions
  • General knowledge of all other shop processes
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and does so with minimal supervision
  • Perform TPMs on equipment
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection techniques
  • Operate CMM using established programs
  • Perform moment weigh inspections and tap testing operation
  • Verify specified dimensions of parts or material
  • Test product for structural defects such as leaks or internal cracks
  • Perform air flow testing
Requirements
  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication Skills: Able to read and understand basic instructions, write simple correspondence, and effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Math Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of applying common sense to follow written, or diagrammed instructions and resolve routine problems involving multiple variables.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic skills in using personal computers and common software applications such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
